Hebrews 11:1 'faith is the substance of thing hope for the evidence of things are not seen them'
Roman's 4:17-b 'who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.'
Why do people find it hard to walk in faith? Is it them? Is a God? is it their personality type? or is it that they just don't understand this one simple truth? Their circumstances should never dictate faith.
Sometimes circumstances seem hard, and difficult, and you wonder were God is in the midst of it all. But this is when the principle I am about to teach you to come into place. Quite often our flesh will look at circumstances and say 'how am I going to get out of this'? Dear God help me to get out of these circumstances. We hear ourselves quote the Bible but it seems like a lie. We say things like 'let the weak saying I am strong, let the poor saying I am rich'. What if your circumstances are saying than I am not rich, and you stand in faith, and say: 'I am rich' it feels like a lie, and lying is also a sin. So how can I reconcile this? As you can see from the two verses at the top, faith has nothing to do with circumstances.
Recently it had a friend who said 'fake it till you make it' when he was referring to prayer. But the pastor in me corrected him and said 'don't you mean faith it till you make it.'
You may be thinking 'OK okay I have heard all this before' but have you ever considered that the Bible is ultimately the truth, and that if the Bible says it is OK to call those things that do not exist as though they did, then it is not a lie, it is merely speaking the truth into the circumstances. Have you ever considered that the circumstances are the lie, not speaking what God has said about the circumstances?
I have been guilty of this myself, I have looked at circumstances, and tried to speak the word of God into the circumstances, and felt like it was a complete lie. The secret here is to remember that the word of God is true, anything contrary to the word of God is that lie. I sometimes still struggle with this myself, I need to remind myself and their God's word is the ultimate truth and the circumstances are a lie.
Try these three tips.
1. God wants us to believe his word. In the western world where government corruption, is not as bad as some other countries, there is very little reason, (besides disability) why a person cannot be rich. Begin by remembering that Gods word is the ultimate truth, it is from this standpoint that we quote the word of God. If God's word is true, it is never a lie. Our flesh is a constant war with God that is one feels like a lie. Do not listen to your feelings in this case because your feelings are brought on by your flesh. If you are sick understand that the word of God states that He does not want you to be sick.
2. Decide if you want to change your circumstances. Sometimes people do not want to change their circumstances and this makes it hard for God to operate in your life, because God will not go against your will. Look at whether your circumstances were brought on by your bad decisions, because sometimes we have to carry the consequences of a bad decision. Once you have decided that you'd like to change your circumstances, then stand on the word of God even if your flesh is saying the opposite. It may feel like a lie at the time, but remembering point 1 God's word is the ultimate truth and the circumstances are a lie.
3. If these two tips do not work, then prayer to God to give you a greater measure of faith. For He is faithful to accomplish that which He started. Or perhaps ask God to do this first. Who knows it might just work. (sarcasm) of cause it will work God has never failed to answer prayers.
Belief in the power of God's word is paramount in helping you to achieve a greater measure of faith. For if you do not believe in the power of God's word then none of this is going to work for you. However if you do believe it, then you will find victories like you n
